Welcome to Morocco
Our visit to Morocco was our first time stepping on the continent of Africa. It was also the first time we experienced culture shock. We had no idea what to expect. People trying to sell us things on the streets from fez’s to bracelets to geodes. Smells we have never encountered before like spices, sweat, and dirt, mixed with a hint of urine. Human or animal—we weren’t really sure. The people were preparing for the Feast of Abraham while we were there so goats were being herded on the streets almost everywhere. Tangier was a place we will never forget.
Travel writing and blogging had not entered my repertoire yet and it seems like many moons ago we were there. I guess what I am saying is don’t expect a blog on Morocco soon…
To get the full story on our extended travels that took us away from Canada for nearly six months, check out my book Roam Free: A Travel Transformation Memoir.
“I purchased your book. It arrived today, and after getting through the first couple of chapters I just want to hug you. I’ve been there, been to “how am I going to do this?!? Ok, I have to work harder, I have to do a job I know is below my skill level…” I’m going to keep reading now. I knew I was your biggest fan for a reason. And this book has come to me with perfect timing.” – Amanda M.
